Label inspiration

Could you imagine receiving this little brown box and sliding it out to reveal the yummy creations inside?? Yes please!
Wash it down with some water or juice in these gorgeous bottles that would bring a bit of happiness to desks everywhere.
And after work unwind with a couple of beers with labels so cute you'll want to slip one (or all of them) into your handbag!

nerdy art love

I have to buy these pics, I feel like rosie has been to my house and drawn these from watching ben and I. Yes, we do sit on the bed like that with our laptops... and he also looks like ben minus the glasses.
And this is definitely us (plus a much closer resemblance to me with the blonde hair and the glasses). Almost every night we make dinner together standing side by side like this, talking about the day. ohhh... I might turn my lappy off now, spend some time with my beautiful benny.

Knitting graffiti

This is why I LOVE New Zealand. Great food, one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, great shopping and wonderfully creative people (including my gorgeous husband).

I found these great pics on the gorgeous blog Small Acorns (also a store in Wellington, that I will have to visit next time I'm in NZ).

If only this could become a worldwide movement! The fences of the world would be so pretty (and warm).

from here
That's what I need to do - relax. A cup of tea made by someone else (it always tastes better that way) in a gorgeous tea cup is definitely a great start down the relaxation path. It's made even better when you have some sugar cubes and vintage silver tongs on hand to sweeten it up.

What makes you happy?

What makes you happy? For me, it's beauty in the details. It just makes me smile that someone put so much thought and effort into the little things. Wouldn't sewing be easier if these were your pin cushions?

A room of one's own

Heather Bailey's craft space

After many years in crafting exile, too scared to go to Spotlight because the size of the place was too overwhelming... never kniting more than a couple of wonky lines of a scarf that I knew I'd never wear... sewing a couple of pairs of PJ pants that my husband wore a few times (and the drawstring becoming a chew toy for my puppies) - I'm back, trying again to be crafty!

We're currently trying to finish one of the bedrooms in our giant house reno and I know this room would make a fabulous nursery, but alas, I'm not pregnant yet. And rather than decorate for a baby that I haven't yet been blessed with (which would be bad luck anyway according to my mum), I'd rather make it a room that I can enjoy in the meantime... and maybe practicing a few things for when a little one does come along.

So I found these gorgeous rooms to get us all inspired. Get out the sewing machine, crochet hooks, knitting needles, stamps, craft cutters, ribbons, fabric, embellishments and get decorating a little space all of your own.

I'll get some pics up soon! We've just done the first coat of paint today.

Loving the pom pom trim. I could definitely find a place for that!

So many fabrics, so many things to learn how to sew! Bye! I'm off to practice.

Weekend inspiration...

Lately all my web travelling keeps leading back to Brisbane - I love this town, I especially love it on the weekend. So, it was perfect stumbling across this gorgeous pink striped couch from Brisbane store Black and Spiro. I think I will definitely have to pay it a visit. For those of you who don't live in Brisbane, check out the always inspiring and gorgeous blog by Anna Spiro.

I think I might have to save up my pennies for a big spending spree in her store. That candy striped couch would look great in the she-shed I have planned for downstairs.

Happy Birthday Elly!

Happy 17th Birthday Elly!

To one of the most amazing girls in the whole wide world, I hope you have a wonderful day and a fun-filled birthday week!

Keep it clean

Keep the romance (and hygiene) alive.

Find this cool print here.

Gossip Poetry

Does reading gossip make you feel dirty? Or do you feel guilty for reading it? Like there's something worthwhile with your time that you should be doing rather than reading about how Brangelina spend their horizontal time or who Robert Pattinson is dating...

Yes, me too. Well, not anymore. The Fugly Girls make gossip high brow with their witty quips and sharp observations about the ridiculousity of celebrity, while never taking themselves too seriously (or being too mean).

With categories like 'Classic Fug', 'Fug or Fab' and 'Fug Madness', you'll be hooked in no time. Check it out here.

Yes please!

Love the fabric, love the chair.

Well, it is my birthday soon....

Cutest guest signing idea ever

Ok, this is proof that Brisbane is cool, and to think I only came across this because I was perusing my favourite New York blogger's site..

The Wedding Tree thumbprint - it's too gorgeous - it's wedding art. Keeping a record of who attended your wedding has never been so stylish! And 'leaf' a thumbprint.. oh my goodness.. it's just too CUTE!

Check out the rest of this gorgeous but a little bit different wedding here, captured by Jonas Peterson.

Definitely my cup of tea

I love a party, but I especially love a themed party, especially girly ones for brides to be. The tea-theming is too cute, and so easy. Check out the marshmallow with the lifesaver handle!

Is it bad that I'm already thinking about next weekend. I can't help it, it's getting so lovely and warm...

Weekends are for dreaming, not cleaning

Hi Friends!
Welcome to one of the dreamiest houses I've come across on one of my fave blogs younghouselove.
If there were no boys in my life (1 husband, 2 puppies), this would be my perfect house. I think if I put them all in a house like this:
a) My two pups would soon turn that cotton candy palette to more of a dalmation print
b) I'd feel like I'd be emasculating my husband.

Anyway, maybe I can convert just one room to look a little like this house... I'd definitely start with some of those light fittings in the first 2 pics!

And these chairs...

And that stool..
And those drapes...
So yes my friends, have a great weekend. I'm off to decorate a bridal shower.

Baby brain..

Ok, will my husband knock me up already.... these gorgeous nurseries are driving me baby-crazy! Me got to get to the bedroom (with husband)!
English actress, Alex Kingston's nursery Hmm.. all white, not very practical, but totally dreamy. Sweet dreams future baby! Classicstyleinthecity

Oh, and for when they grow up... how about off to ballet in one of DanburyLane's gorgeous tutu's!
I'll let you know how I go with my babymaking!

Welcome to my blog - the pretty trip. I'm so glad you're here!! For anybody who happens to stumble across my little corner of the universe, I'll be sharing all the gorgeous spaces and places that I'm coveting, people and ideas that I'm loving and other things that float my little vintage boat. xo
